Questions are very important when you meet someone for the first time because these dates should be very short, perhaps less than a half hour.
You want to get to know as much about the person as possible in the least amount of time and make a good impression.
Questions that say 'I'm listening, that's interesting, I'm impressed, , … tell me more, …'.
Words that say I notice. For example you might compliment him on his cologne or the shirt he's wearing.
Discussions about what the guy wrote in his profile. Print it off and take it with you if you want.
(Compare the real person to what he wrote in his profile. Is he honest?)
Open ended questions that require a long answer and more than a few minutes to discuss.
Open ended first date questions:
So tell me about yourself. What should I know about you?
What do you like to do for fun?
What do you like about your job? (Avoid asking work related questions too early. Some guys might assume you're too interested in money.)
It says here in your profile that you love to travel. Where have you been and what are your favorite places?
You have an interesting picture online. When was it taken and what kind of party were you at?
Wow, that's a nice car! Do you like it? What's it like? How long have you had it? What other cars did you consider? Why did you choose that one. These types of questions are great as long as he seems to be excited about what he's saying. If he doesn't appear interested, simply look to change the subject and discuss something else.
Any questions that are important to you. Be yourself. If someone doesn't like you the way you are, do you really want to date them?
